Between 2014 and 2017 I competed in downhill skateboarding. I became obsessed to teach myself how to regulate speed down hills after watching a video girls bombing and drifting in the sunset.
I fully immersed myself in the community and with time got the nickname, 'Ladyballz'. I don't think it was because I actually had the guts as 'balls' insinuates, but it was because of the stubborness and the commitment. It was my first experience of what being apart of community felt like. It taught me that if you do the hard work and you take the risk, it can be incredibly rewarding. It became a lifestyle and apart of my identity.
Travelling for competitions and event, or having the board in common, I met people from all over the world. Many of them becoming life long friends and inspirations.
